Is Yours an Enterprise 2.0 ?

Increasing numbers of businesses are leveraging blogs, wikis, mashups and social networking tools to boost employee collaboration and communication.
A recent report by Forrester Research reports that the tide is turning in favour of implementing consumer-oriented Web 2.0 tools internally within orgnisations to create Enterprise 2.0.

The Forrester analysts expect half of the 42 percent of enterprises that say Web 2.0 is not on their priority list to add it by year's end. Many knowledge workers already post their own blogs or use social networks such as Facebook to connect with people in the workplace and IT execs will deploy enterprise-ready tools to give their employees a secure outlet for such collaboration.

Features most used are likely to include enterprise RSS feeds, mashups and social network tools. RSS deployment will be necessary to keep new content fresh, and the research firm expects 20 percent of enterprises to consider RSS by the end of the year.
